NASHUA, NH September 17, 2009 – Ektron Inc., a technology and market leader in Web content management software, today announced that numerous Ektron driven Web sites have been recognized by the Web Marketing Association in their 2009 Web Award Competition.
The Web Marketing Association is made up of Internet marketing, online advertising, PR and Web site design professionals who select the best Web sites in 96 different industries that they feel set the standard of excellence for all Web site development. This year, Web sites developed on Ektron’s Web content management platform, CMS400.NET, were acknowledged in over 10 industry categories with the Outstanding Web site Award. Ektron customer, Dockwalk.com also received the “Best Web site of Industry” award in the Magazine category.
Dockwalk, a monthly publication from Boat International Media for superyacht captains and crews, built a news and community Web site, Dockwalk.com, leveraging Ektron’s social networking tools and API. Aimed at this niche community, in just over a year the site has over 10,000 members from across the globe and continues to grow every day as the word spreads.
“We attribute a big part of Dockwalk.com’s success to AMT Data Technologies and the Ektron platform, which allowed us to get the site up and running in as little as 10 weeks,” commented Edward Ewing, digital director from Boat International Media. “Ektron’s out-of-the-box social networking tools combined with its API allowed us to create a dynamic customizable news and social site to keep the superyacht captains & crew community up to date and connected with one another.”
