University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina New Site Powered by Ektron CMS400.NET
Regional health system plans to use Ektron’s eIntranet for corporate collaboration
NASHUA, NH June 17, 2009 – Ektron Inc., a technology and market leader in Web content management software today announced the launch of www.uhseast.com the University Health Systems (UHS) of Eastern Carolina’s public site, on Ektron CMS400.NET. With this project UHS was specifically focused on ensuring their multiple Web properties were easier to manage and that the overall online customer experience was improved.
UHS of Eastern Carolina chose Ektron to replace their existing Web content management (WCM) platform in order to have a more up-to-date technology that allowed for the management of multiple hospitals under one, UHS of Eastern Carolina, umbrella. Ektron’s multi-site support and synchronization technology, eSync, allows hospitals like UHS East to create individual multiple-site environments that are managed through one centralized administrative interface.
Using the site’s new provider locator, both new and existing patients can come to www.uhseast.com and easily find a provider, filtering search results by location and specialty. Ektron can enhance the experience of any hospital’s site visitors by the use of taxonomy, indexed search and geo-mapping mash-ups that allow patients to locate a provider near them and get directions to their office.
UHS of Eastern Carolina’s use of Ektron will be expanded with the upcoming launch of their corporate intranet. They intend to use Ektron’s eIntranet to provide for a more advanced, collaborative intranet where their employees can create and manage policy and procedure documents using social networking.
